How did you choose your name?
Someone in the industry gave me the name Traxx. I used to do a scratching adlib at the beginning of songs that sounded like it was saying Trigga. (laughs)
How would you define your style?
Regular. Not regular like anybody can do it, more like everybody can relate to it.
How did you get down with Screwface?
I’m one of the founders of the company as well as one of the architects of the Screwface Sound.
What would you like to be doing in 10 years?
The same thing I’m doing now, minus the stress. (laughs)
What do you think about the state of the industry?
Its bad with the way sales are right now but it’ll come back around. People are always gonna want to hear good music.
Why should people buy your album?
It’s good music. In my opinion, the greatest thing to happen to hip hop in a long time.
How does being a producer help you as a rapper and vice versa?
I can hear different rhythms and melodies in beats. I use those in my flow instead of an instrument. On the flipside it gives me a good understanding of what other Artists or writers want in a track.
Tell me about some of the artists you’ve worked with:
Terror Squad, (when Pun was alive) Akon, Scarface, Capone, James Blunt, Dipset, Eric Sermon, and State Property to name a few. They were all great to work with and I look forward to the artist I will have the opportunity to work with in the future. |
